Overview
Entrust Services were instructed by KTL to produce an Assessment of Landscape and Visual Impact (a light touch LVIA, that Entrust have developed specifically for the telecommunication and renewable sectors), Photomontages, ZTV Maps, and GIS Maps for a site in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding National Beauty) in Devon.
Project Proposal
The proposal was for a 4G mast designed to resemble a telegraph pole. The location of the cabinets at the base of the mast utilised the topography of the site, with the cabinets situated in a levelled area that benefited from a retaining gabion on three sides. This design choice helped to screen the cabinets from view from all surrounding angles.

Design Considerations
Small design features like this can be the deciding factor when it comes to planning. Entrust Services were keen to run through the design process with the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to clearly demonstrate the reasoning behind the design choices and the process as a whole.
Outcome
Carefully designed sites, along with Entrust Services’ clear communication in their ALVI, led to the successful approval of the planning application for this site.
