Overview
Entrust Services were engaged by Heyrod Communications to facilitate the planning application for a replacement emergency services mast within the Forest of Bowland National Landscape in Lancashire.
Background
Prior to Entrust’s involvement, the site had faced a failed planning application. Understanding the complexities of the previous decision was essential for a successful re-submission. Our team conducted a review of the decision notice, engaged in discussions with the Case Officer, and devised a comprehensive plan to address the concerns that led to the earlier rejection.

Strategic Approach
Entrust Services collaborated closely with Heyrod Communications to ensure the new application was comprehensive and well-supported. Key elements of the revised submission included: Photomontages, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) and a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA).
Monitoring and Approval
Throughout the application process, Entrust maintained close oversight, ensuring all required documentation was in order and addressing any queries from the Local Planning Authority (LPA) promptly. This proactive approach culminated in successful planning approval in February 2024.
Outcome
The approval of the replacement emergency services mast not only enhances critical communication capabilities in the Forest of Bowland but also demonstrates Entrust’s commitment to balancing infrastructure needs with environmental considerations. The project signifies a vital step forward in ensuring public safety and effective emergency response in the area.
