Overview
This project involved assisting a homeowner in West Lancashire to replace outdated single-glazed windows with energy-efficient double glazing. The property, located in a Conservation Area, required meticulous planning, detailed drawings, and coordination with local authorities to ensure all guidelines were met.
Planning Requirements
In order for the planning application to be validated by West Lancashire Borough Council’s Planning Department, a number of detailed drawings needed to be produced.

Site Survey and Drawing Creation
Our very own Vishnu and Isabel visited the site to undertake a survey of the building, before creating the drawings which included:
- Layout plans
- Elevations
Application Submission and Coordination
Following the production of the drawings, our planning team:
- Submitted the application.
- Liaised closely with West Lancashire Council to ensure it was validated in a timely manner.
- Ensured the Council had sufficient information to determine the application.
Outcome
Entrust Services’ hard work paid off when the application was approved, allowing the homeowner to replace their single glazing with energy-efficient double glazing while preserving the character of the Conservation Area.
